Development space:
With Nanjing branch of Shenzhen Huawei Technology Co., Ltd.,
Nanjing R&D Center of Shenyang Neusoft Co., Ltd., Nanjing
R&D Center of ZTE Corporation as its core companies, the
industrial base stretches to the Airport Highway to its east,
reaches Naning-Danyang Highway to its the west, connects Southern
Yuhua Road to its north and reaches New Qinhuai River to its south,
with a total area of 5.5 sq. km. The central part with an area of
2.5 sq.km is located at north of the belt highway. According to the
long-term plan, the industrial base is to cross New Qinhuai River
and extent forward to the south.
Base advantages:
The base is close to the famous Yuhuatai Scenic Area to its north
and connects Jiangjun Mountain Scenic Zone to its south, with New
Qinhua River flowing through like a jade belt. The scenery is
pleasant thanks to beautiful landscapes of mountains and rivers. It
is really a perfect location for the base of information industry.
The industrial base also has such a geographical advantage: It is
close to the main urban area of Nanjing and the Olympic New Town in
Hexi District of Nanjing, and it is only 3km away from downtown
Nanjing. It has a convenient transportation system of subways and
buses, while having formed such a solid transportation network as
airlines, railways and expressways, etc., with electric wire network
of high standard configuration, gas network, telecommunication
network, water supply network and various top or middle grade
business or residential districts. Right now, Nanjing owns 48
colleges and 64 scientific research institutes with 65 academicians
of Chinese Academy of Sciences or Chinese Academy of Engineering,
over 350,000 technicians of various fields and over 300,000 college
students. All these provide a guarantee of talented people for the
industrial base.
Existing foundation:
Right now, over 10 famous IT enterprises as well as R & D
centers have settled down in the industrial base, such as Nanjing R
& D Center of ZTE Corporation, Nanjing SVT IT, IC Hi-tech
Industrial Park, Huawei Software Technology Co., Ltd, Nanjing
R&D Center of Shenyang Neusoft Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Hongtu-Sanbao
Hi-tech Industrial Park, Jiangsu Shuntian R & D Center, etc. Now
there are about 10,000 technicians engaging in research and
development, and this number will increase to over 80,000 by the
year 2008.By the end of the 11th Five- Year Project, there will be
up to 150 enterprises in the industrial base, with a sales volume of
30 billion and software export of over 30 million US dollars.
Now the two Yuhua Software Buildings of respectively 15 floors
have been completed, which cover 12,000 sq. km with a construction
area of 26,000 sq. km. These two buildings are built as “Double
Ecological” office buildings which are for rent now.
