Adjacent to the main urban area of Nanjing and connected with
Yuhuatai Scenic Spot, the Southern Nanjing New Area enjoys a
beautiful, unique, natural and ecological environment and
advantageous infrastructures. It is designed to build a hi-tech
industrial park, a top-grade modern commerce and trade area, a noble
residential area, an area of high-taste cultural facilities and a
dense afforestation coverage area.
The high-tech industrial park: A hi-tech industrial research,
development and manufacturing base with an area of over 100 hectares
relying on the human resources and scientific research advantages of
Nanjing and the unique ecological advantages of Yuhuatai District
has been built to the east and west of the Airport Expressway and to
the south and north of Weijiu Road. This park now caters for
Zhongxing Telecommunication Research & Development Center,
Software of Southeast University, Shenzhou Computer and SVT Group.
The next plan of this park is to extend its industrial chain
southward and build a high-tech industrial processing &
manufacturing base with an area of 5 sq.km on both sides of the New
Qinhuai River and at the foot of Jiangjun Mountain and Niushou
Mountain, on the basis of which there will rapidly form an
ecological high-tech industrial research, development and
manufacturing base mainly catering for IT industry, headquarters of
large companies as well as R & D centers.
The top-grade modern commerce and trade area: to promote the
business transfer, market scale and market grade of the market belts
of Southern Fengtai Road and Nanjing-Lishui Highway with the planned
Southern Railway Station as the central point and the basically
formed Southern Nanjing commerce and trade area as the central area.
The Southern Nanjing commerce and trade area, situated to the west
of Nanjing-Lishui Highway and north of the Urban Belt Highway,
covers an area of 76.7 hectares according to the plan, closely
connected with METRO and OBI supermarkets, belonging to the world
top 500 enterprises. The Southern Nanjing Automobile Trade Park
being built according to the plan, covering an area of more than 45
hectares, is situated to the west of Nanjing-Lishui Highway and
south of Weijiu Road. With more than 10 franchise shops of such
brands as Benz, the annual transaction volume of small cars accounts
for 30% of that of the whole city. The next step is to build the
biggest automobile market in eastern China incorporating automobile
exhibitions, sales, repairs and services by bringing in 20 brand
franchise shops.
